Native Affairs Kōwhiri 14 continues its second Māori Electorate debate special with the four leading candidates contesting Te Tai Hauāuru.

From the Māori Party is Chris McKenzie, Jack Tautokai McDonald from the Greens, representing Labour will be Adrian Rurawhe and from the MANA Movement Jordan Winiata.

Billie Jo Hohepa-Ropiha first takes us back on her tiki-tour through Te Tai Hauāuru to Taumarunui and after spending time with the people of the region, she asks candidates what ideas they might have in order to bring down everyday living costs?

Native Affairs also reveals the first of the Māori Television Reid Research poll results for Te Tai Hauāuru.

Voters were asked to rank what issues are the most important to them this election?

At number four, Māori Unemployment sat at 90%.

At third equal with 93% was Te Reo Māori and the Cost of Living.

At second equal was Child Poverty and Education at 95%.

The issue considered most important according to voters of Te Tai Hauāuru was Family Violence which sits at 96%.
