Ahead of concerns around the cost of living, child poverty and education, family violence is the number one important issue rated by Tāmaki Makaurau voters.
This is according to Māori Television's latest research polls which also indicates who the voters would prefer in Govt and who would best represent them.
If the election was held tomorrow, Labour would take the majority of the party vote. 37.3% of those polled would like a Labour-led Govt.
The Māori Party came in second as a preferred Govt, while just over 13% would still like National to govern.
Internet-MANA and NZ First both are on 12%, with just over 9% support for the Greens. While ACT and the Conservatives both sit on 0.2% and no support for United Future.
Māori Party's Rangi McLean leads Peeni Henare of Labour by 1% in the candidate vote.
14% support Kereama Pene from MANA while half of that amount are swaying with the Green Party candidate, Marama Davidson.
