Both excitement and fear was felt at day one of Auckland's Kura Tuatahi haka regionals hosted at Te Kura Kaupapa Maori ā rohe o Māngere.
Despite the wind and the rain, it didn't deter the energy of these future haka exponents from giving it their all on stage today.
Although it was the first day of the competition today, Auckland primary schools put on a fierce show today.
It’s a first time for some of these judges, many of them surprised by the level of these little kapa haka performers.
It’s clear to see the quality of these primary school groups, some of them swinging the poi before they could even crawl.
The competition will continue tomorrow, only then we'll know who will take it out.
