Northland kuia and koroua will enjoy the benefits of a partnership between Ngāti Wai Trust Board and Auckland company Neat Meat.

Over a tonne of prime pork bones were transferred to Northland communities.

A special delivery with simple ingredients, a dash of 'manaakitanga' and loads of 'aroha'.

Ngāti Wai Trust Board's Aperahama Edwards says the meat will be provided to those in need, as well as to whānau outside of Ngāti Wai.

Neat Meat CEO Simon Ericson says, "Marae and other communities are like everybody in NZ right now, and need help and need food for their people - no different to nurses and other people who work in other services and it's a need we love to be part of."

The free meat deal comes with direct freight to Whangārei, they've even factored in Great Barrier Island as well.

Martin Cleave (Ngāti Wai Trust Board) says, "She's sending meat packs down to Claris which is the southern end of the island and that's going to make it's hikoi up to Matairehe and Kawa."

Ngāti Wai have distributed over 300 care packages over the last week, and with new donations, they'll be able to continue with the service.

Simon Mitchell (Ngāti Wai Trust Board) says, "Love to serve others, especially our Ngāti Wai people, feels really good to be giving back to Ngāti Wai."

For many whānau in the north, boil-up is an essential meal for the whānau, so there's no doubt the delivery will put smiles on many faces.
