Police have confirmed that one person has died in a single-vehicle crash near Gisborne.
The crash on Lavenham Road near Gisborne occurred shortly before 9pm on Friday night.
Initial reports said the person had been seriously injured but in a statement Saturday police confirmed the person had died.
An investigation into the circumstances of the crash is underway.
